Zoox has designed a variety of modules that range in length and content. Alongside these individual courses we also can provide workshops that are more interactive and provide those attending with a new level of insight, confidence and direction about where they want to take their next steps.

The Zoox Training Modules have been designed specifically for those who are interested in finding out more about a range of topics related to marine science and the conservation industry. The Zoox modules have been put together to develop your knowledge and skills, suitable for all levels of experience, to help you to pursue your career. Our One Day Training course combines a selection of all the Zoox modules and will provide you with an overview of what it takes to find your dream job in marine conservation. All Zoox training modules are included as part of the training course at the beginning of the Zoox Experience Programme.

"I really have a clear idea of where and how to head in the direction that I want to." - Student after the One Day Training Course - May 2012

What's involved in the One Day Training course?

Can’t afford to travel out to South East Asia to get some quality experience with us in the field running marine conservation projects? Don’t fret … we’ve worked out a way to bring a little bit to you here in the UK. We usually travel up and down the UK  providing an opportunity for you to join one of our training courses and workshops but mostly they are held in Bristol.

The day involves a Zoox Trainer giving an informal lecture style presentation which will be interactive, informative and enjoyable providing those who attend with handouts, refreshments, a Certificate of Attendance and a personal e-mail helping you focus on your next steps. The One Day Training Course will include a mixture of our most popular modules lasting the whole day and typically is done in small groups (4-8) allowing those who attend to get the most out of it.

"I was amazed by Chloe and JJ’s passion and knowledge on all the subjects covered. They really helped me see what skills potential employers are after and were great at suggesting what I need to do to gain them." - Student on the One Day Training Course

We usually run the day from 9am to 5pm in a fully equipped classroom with an hour off for lunch. Included in the price will be morning and afternoon snacks and drinks and off street parking (limited availability so contact us if you are interested in this).

    How much does it cost?

The day will cost £90 per person. For all students out there we will offer you a third off making it £60 per student. We require a 50% non-refundable deposit to confirm your placement.

You might have worked this out already but we’re more interested in getting the right people into careers in conservation, so if something here doesn’t quite work for you please just let us know and we will try and work around you.

What are the Dates and Locations?

We hold the Training courses typically during May, June and July in the UK in various locations but predominately in Bristol. We currently have NO planned dates for 2012 as we prepare to go back to Asia to run the Zoox Experience Programme where the courses are run in full to the successful applicants. If you are interested in booking ahead for 2013 then please e-mail us at info@zoox.org.uk to let us know. Please also 'Like' us on Facebook so that you can be up to date with the latest dates and locations there.

Do I need a background in Marine Science?

The modules and the whole day has been designed for people from all backgrounds and it is not necessary to have a degree or be studying for one to undertake this course.

    How do I book?

If you would like to confirm your placement then please send an e-mail to us at info@zoox.org.uk and we will send you a booking form.
